When it comes to wellness we are firm believers that a cake is good for the soul and that the route to wellness is not simply about abstaining from little treats in life. In fact at Fishmore Hall Hotel, Ludlow in Shropshire, there is a sense that indulging in a little afternoon tea is positively good for you.
Our afternoon tea is made by our resident Chef Andrew Birch and his enthusiastic and talented team. You will be treated to a varied selection of delicious chefs cakes that are always changing. We were treated to freshly made scones with home made jam and clotted cream. There were vibrant pink macaroons, petite squares of lemon cake topped with meringue swirls and home made profiteroles filled with creme patissiere. You will be served a selection of savoury sandwiches with fillings that include cucumber, salmon, ham and egg. Each one a perfect mouthful and so beautifully presented.
You can choose to have your tea after or before your spa treatments and you will find that there are plenty of places to sit and relax. Discover the secluded patio and decking by the Cedar Vitality pool or sit in a secluded spot on the veranda and take in the view over the Shropshire hills. With a super soft fleece bathrobe and a luxurious sleeping bag wrapped around your knees, you can sit out in the hammock or on the decking and enjoy the views even on the chilliest of days.
The spa boasts four treatment rooms, which combine to create two couples rooms, a steam room and sauna, as well as an outdoor Cedar wellness pool and oversized hammock on the decking, both overlooking the fields and the Shropshire hills. There is ample relaxation space and the outdoor bucket and monsoon drench shower provides a refreshing and revitalising experience. See all the SPAshell packages here.
